Dr. Orellana is a licensed clinical psychologist  at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She is the Director of Clinical Training for the Division of Population Behavioral Health and she also serves as the Associate Clinical Director for the Stress, Trauma, And Resilience (STAR) Clinic. Dr. Orellana received her doctorate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Orellana completed a clinical internship in trauma psychology, treating children with developmental disabilities and other at-risk populations. As a post-doctoral fellow at USC/UCEDD Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, she also received specialized training in the prevention and treatment of traumatic stress in children and families. Dr. Orellana’s research interests focus on family resilience, risk reduction and abuse prevention for Latinx, at-risk youth, and best practices for treatment of this population.
