Post Doctoral Fellow

Alissa Der Sarkissian, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stress Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Clinic, which is hosted at the Nathanson Family Resilience Center at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She specializes in treating youth, adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma, anxiety, and other stressors. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her dissertation project focused on the impact of transgenerational trauma and community-based resilience on the mental health of Armenian American youth. In her free time, Alissa enjoys cooking new recipes, hiking, reading science fiction, and going to concerts.
