Attending Supervisor, STAR clinic

Dr. Jessica O’Leary is a licensed clinical psychologist at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She serves as Clinical Faculty and an Attending Supervisor for the Stress, Trauma, And Resilience (STAR) Clinic where she supervises clinical psychology and psychiatry trainees in the prevention and treatment of child and family traumatic stress. She also leads trainings for families and mental health professionals through UCLA TIES For Families, an interdisciplinary program dedicated to optimizing the growth and development of foster/adoptive children from birth to young adulthood.

Dr. O’Leary earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Clark University and completed both her predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where she specialized in trauma-informed care and adoption-sensitive therapy. Dr. O’Leary’s research interests center on how to foster resilience, with particular attention to the role of parenting behaviors and emotion socialization in promoting positive youth outcomes.
