Alissa Der Sarkissian, Ph.D. is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stress Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Clinic, in the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She specializes in treating youth, adolescents, and their families who have experienced trauma and other stressors. She received her Ph.D. in Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research interests focus on the impact of transgenerational trauma and community-based resilience on the mental health of Armenian American youth. Before beginning her work at UCLA, Dr. Der Sarkissian completed her clinical internship at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, providing trauma-informed care to youth who are experiencing severe mental health needs.
