STAR CLINIC

Erin Thomas Pereida is a Clinical Psychology Intern in the Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Clinic at the UCLA Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. They are a doctoral candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB). Erin’s research centers on minority stress and examining mental health disparities seen in sexual and gender minority (SGM) communities. Erin is especially interested in understanding the cultural layers of issues facing transgender and gender-expansive youth who hold multiple marginalized identities (e.g., being Latinx and trans). At the STAR clinic, Erin will provide trauma-informed care for adolescents, children, and families who have experienced trauma utilizing evidence-based interventions through a multicultural feminist lens.
