SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE ANALYST
DMH + UCLA PREVENTION CENTER OF EXCELLENCE
Jae Canas, MPH, is a Senior Administrative Analyst at the UCLA Prevention Center of Excellence in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and the UCLA Public Partnership for Wellbeing. As a Community Health Scientist, Jae works with diverse public agencies, community-based organizations, philanthropic partners, and youth in the child welfare system. His expertise includes content creation, training, and presentations to child welfare stakeholders. Jae has a wealth of experience in program development and mental health services, particularly in Los Angeles County. Jae has co-developed and is in the process of implementing the Peer Advisory Council at the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Jae is a state and county workgroup member for Senate Bill 803, which focuses on expanding Medi-Cal Mental health services and Peer Support Specialist certification. In a joint effort with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, Jae conducted Local Education Agency needs assessments for the California Student Behavioral Health Incentive Program (SBHIP).
