Jennifer Murano, PsyD, is a licensed psychologist at the Jerry and Terry Semel Institute of Neuroscience and Human Behavior in the David Geffen School of Medicine. She serves within the Nathanson Family Resilience Center as the lead Model Supervisor for FOCUS, a family resilience program funded by the Office of Secretary of Defense, which serves active duty service members and their families at installations around the world. Dr. Murano is responsible for the training and supervision of FOCUS employees in evidence-based prevention models for families, couples, and wounded warriors. She led an initiative to improve support for wounded, ill, and injured service members and their families, which has been implemented across the FOCUS program. She has also consulted for the Uniformed Services University-Health Sciences, National Military Family Association and for the Defense Center of Excellence. Her clinical and research interests include developing interventions for high-risk populations, family systems and the vital role of forgiveness in emotional healing. Dr. Murano received her doctorate degree from the Institute for Psychological Sciences in Virginia.
