Sugey A. Gomez, Psy.D. (she/her/ella) is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Stress Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Clinic, in the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) in Emeryville, California, and also has a Master of Arts in Sport Psychology. Her clinical work focuses on treating youth and families who have experienced trauma and other life adversities, and specializes in working with monolingual Spanish-speaking families. Her research interests focus on the use of mindfulness skills to support Latinx/Latine mental health. Prior to coming to UCLA, she completed an American Psychological Association (APA) clinical internship at Children Institute, Inc. in Los Angeles, providing trauma-informed, evidence-based care, including Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Seeking Safety (SS), and dyadic therapy. Dr. Gomez enjoys taking walks with her partner, reading, and watching movies.
