Yesenia Aguilar Silvan, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Fellow with dual appointments at the UCLA Child & Youth Behavioral Health Center of Excellence (COE) and the Family Development Program (FDP) at the Jane and Terry Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At FDP, she provides trauma-informed, evidence-based care to families navigating early-life medical challenges, including high-risk pregnancies and neonatal intensive care unit stays. She is particularly committed to supporting monolingual Spanish-speaking families. Her research focuses on improving access to and engagement with evidence-based care in trauma-exposed communities. Drawing on dissemination and implementation science, she investigates organizational- and provider-level strategies to promote the adoption and sustainability of evidence-based practices in resource-constrained settings.
